Jeff Blair

Jeff Blair was born and raised in Buford, Georgia just a couple miles from Lake Lanier.  He has been fishing Lanier for over 35 years. He grew up mainly fishing for crappie, brim, bass and catfish but once he was introduced to stripers he became obsessed with learning the habits of this hard fighting elusive species.

After spending countless hours and many years on the water catching thousands of stripers he decided to turn an addiction into a career and became a full time Lake Lanier Fishing Guide in 2005. Since then he has grew his reputation to be one of the top anglers and most respected guides on Lake Lanier. Some of Jeff’s innovated striper fishing techniques are now used by many anglers on the lake. Jeff is also one of the few old school fisherman that knows how to catch his own bait and keeps them at his personal bait store at his house. Being mainly a live bait fisherman having tanks full of top notch fresh bait is the key to loading the boat with stripers. After almost 20 years of guiding his passion for catching fish still shows on every trip!!

Alex Vasquez

A life long fisherman and Army Infantry veteran, Alex Vasquez started out as a fishing client of Jeff Blair's. He soon became involved with striped bass tournaments on Lake Lanier. In 2015, his rookie season, Alex won team of the year in the Lanier Striper Club. He then went on to become the youngest LSC President to date and made valuable connections throughout the Lake Lanier fishing community. Alex again took team of the year honors in back to back seasons, 2018 & 2019, before taking a break to join Lake Lanier Fishing Guides in an effort to share the sport with new people as well as evolve his own striper fishing skill set.

Alex brings a tournament style approach, readily using different and sometimes innovative tactics while keeping it fun and family friendly. Alex's own family breathes, eats, and sleeps striper fishing. His wife, Toni, and their 2 young daughters, have fished the annual Ladies Day Tournament every year, winning back to back in 2018 and 2019. Toni also serves as the Lanier Striper Club Secretary, so as you can imagine, striped bass are often the topic of conversation in the Vasquez household. His family is his "why" when it comes to striper fishing.

Dillan Greeson

Dillan Greeson is a North Georgia Native who developed a passion for fishing early in life. Like many others, he started off fishing local farm ponds with his father. In his early teens Dillan was introduced to Lake Lanier and instantly fell in love with “Big Water” fishing.

Between sporting events, him and his father would fish the lake, primarily for spotted bass. Upon graduating high school in 2009 he got a job at a local tackle shop that happened to be moving to a larger location at the time, Oakwood Bait & Tackle. He started out as just a bait-runner, then manager, then in 2016 he took ownership of the shop. He owned and operated the business from 2016-2022, when he ultimately sold the shop to just be a Guide. It is at OBT where he spent the better part of 13 years learning from some of the best fisherman on Lanier. Early on in his tenure at OBT he was mainly a spotted bass fisherman, but became obsessed with stripers and how they live. He bought his first bay boat in 2013 and took a few years learning the lake and how striped bass move. Dillan brings a versatile style of fishing with the ability to target multiple species, and is not afraid to cover water to find them.

He started guiding some in 2017 and fell in love with it. Dillan is not like most where they love fishing so they become a guide, he loves the guiding aspect of it all. It’s the memories, experiences, and the work that goes into insuring our people have a good experience that drive him.

Brent Hansen

Brent grew up in the foothills of South Carolina where his love for the outdoors began. His Father introduced him to hunting and fishing as a young child, and Brent spent many weekends fishing lake Hartwell with his family.  Throughout Brent’s life his passion for fishing grew. He started fishing for stripers on lake Lanier in 2007. He was “hooked.” Brent found striper fishing to be both challenging and rewarding.  From that point on, Brent immersed himself in learning everything about striper fishing and prides himself on staying up to date on all the newest techniques and patterns.

Brent is also a licensed general contractor, specializing in deck building by trade. But his love for striper fishing lead him to begin guiding on Lake Lanier in 2014.  Brent’s second largest striper to date was a 37 pounder caught on Lake Lanier in December 2021.

Striper fishing is more than a job for Brent. It’s the joy found in helping someone catch their biggest fish. It’s time spent with family, and laughter with friends. For Brent striper fishing is making long lasting memories.
