Lake Lanier Fishing Report - June 2026
Striped Bass were a consistent catch on every trip throughout June on Lake Lanier.
How June fished
June offered some excellent fishing opportunities on Lake Lanier. We found Striped Bass on every outing, a reliable target for our anglers. The Spotted Bass also made a strong showing, appearing on most trips and providing steady action throughout the month. Now and then, we encountered Catfish and Gar, adding variety to the catches.
While Striped Bass were present on every trip, the Spotted Bass bite remained consistent from the beginning to the end of the month. This steady presence allowed for some great sport fishing days. We also saw Catfish and Gar turn up now and then, contributing to a diverse fishing experience.
Conditions varied throughout June, with some days offering calm waters perfect for a relaxed pace and others bringing more active sport fishing. We had opportunities to target a mix of species, including Striped Bass, Spotted Bass, and at times, Catfish, Gar, and Largemouth Bass. The fishing felt productive, with anglers putting in solid work.
Other guides like Alex Vasquez and Terry O. were also out on the water, contributing to the overall fishing success on Lake Lanier. It was a good month for getting out and enjoying the sport, with plenty of fish brought to the boat.

What July looks like on Lake Lanier
The lake is warm top to bottom and the thermocline pushes most fish deep. We fish channel catfish and gar out over deep humps and old creek channels where they stay active all day, while spotted bass hold tight to brush and rock on the main lake points. Striper, largemouth, white bass, and crappie are slow this month, so we do not chase them hard in July.
