Lake Lanier Fishing Report - March 2026
Striped Bass were a consistent catch on every trip throughout March on Lake Lanier.
How March fished
March kicked off with steady fishing, and the action continued throughout the month. We found Striped Bass on every outing, providing reliable sport for our anglers. It was a good stretch of consistent fishing across the board.
While Striped Bass were a constant presence, Spotted Bass also became more consistent as the month progressed. We also saw White Bass and Largemouth Bass showing up now and then. Gar made an appearance occasionally, and we even landed a Crappie once.
The conditions varied, but we enjoyed many enjoyable days on the water. Some trips offered bright daylight fishing, while others extended into calm sunsets. The fishing felt good, with a mix of recreational and sport fishing outings.
The latter half of the month brought some particularly strong days. We had some memorable outings with multiple species hitting the boat, making for successful and fun trips.

What April looks like on Lake Lanier
Water is warming fast and everything on Lanier turns on at once. Stripers and white bass push up the rivers and creek arms chasing shad, largemouth stack on points and brush, and crappie hold tight to standing timber and deep brush piles. This is our busiest stretch of the year and we run trips daily to keep up with it.
