Graph Reading Guide

We added this section to help other fisherman learn to read their electronics better. Lake Lanier is a electronics fishery, to catch stripers, bass, crappie and even bait fish on Lanier, a good graph is a must have. Not only do you have to have one you need to understand what you are looking at. This is a great time to be in the fishing industry as there is technology that is available to help us locate and catch fish in ways never before possible. My boat is rigged with 2 Humminbird Solix 12’s G2 Mega Si Mega Di with Mega360 all linked to a MinnKota 36 volt Ulterra self deploy trolling motor to complete the One Boat Network Johnson Outdoors offers.

We also offer on the water electronic lessons in your boat or mine, check our rates page for more info.

This side image capture is a good example of a school of stripers over a hundred yards away on the left side of my boat swimming to me.

This 2D sonar and side imaging screen captures is what every fisherman dreams of. The left 2D sonar is showing the school of stripers under my boat but the side imaging shows how many stripers are really under and around the boat. These fish were thick all the way out 100ft on both sides of my boat.

This 2D sonar and side imaging capture is a example of a huge school of bait fish(threadfin shad). No fish in these pics. All baitfish.

4.png

This is the same school of bait as previous screen capture but now the stripers are coming in and feeding underneath the school of bait.

5.png

This down imaging screen capture is a example of scattered stripers and small schools of bait hanging out in a thin timberline on the bottom.

This Mega side imaging screen capture shows a huge school of stripers under my boat but there is a lot more out 40-60ft to the right side of my boat.(would be smart to cast to that side of the boat )

This is an awesome 2D and DI image capture of the old Lights Ferry Bridge that crosses the old Chattahoochee River channel before the lake was built. This image is so detailed it is self explanatory.

This is a really cool side imaging capture of an old house that was not tore down when that filled the lake up.

9.jpg

This shows 15 or so stripers hanging around a stump off the left side of my boat. The fish are the brighter image and the dark spots to the left of them are the shadows from the fish.

These 2 side imaging captures are the same. The second one is zoomed to see the detail.

This side imaging pic shows a pretty good school of stripers hanging out on the bottom on a shallow flat. Notice the shadows are really close to the fish tells you they are on the bottom. If the shadows were far away from the fish that would indicate the fish suspended in the water column.

Here is another side imaging pic showing another school of stripers out to the right of my boat. Notice the shadows again are real close to them indicating they are on or near the bottom.
