Not much has changed since my last report. The water temp got into the high 60’s but with the cold front that came through dropped them into the high 50’s but steady climbing the past couple days. Our stripers are scattered across the whole lake right now. Some showing up midway all the way to the backs of the creeks, some up both of our rivers and still a lot showing up out over open water in the river channel.

Regardless of where you find the fish, free lined blueback herring has been the better bite. Pulling a few gizzard shad mixed in with your herring can produce some nice fish right now. Everyday the bite can be a little different so keep an open mind when your out. If the fish are not wanting to come to surface add a little split shot. If they don’t want to bite that try down lining on them. Don’t forget about the Mini Mack’s right now. When the fish get a little locked up on live bait they normally will hammer the Mini Mack’s. The bite and weather is awesome right. Get out and catch them up!!

We managed to boat this 35lb monster (post here about it) which was the biggest fish Ive seen pulled out of the lake in quite a while. Subscribe to my fishing report below to know when these are released first!
